Blackburn Teenage Market (National Festival of Making)

The Teenage Market is returning to Blackburn for its second year on the 12th and 13th of May in partnership with the National Festival of Making. This successful event takes over the streets with music, markets, street food, art, performance, tours, talks and above all, an eclectic mix of making experiences for everyone. The markets will be situated on Ainsworth Street utilising the newly developed area adjacent to Blackburn bus station with a strip of bustling markets and acoustic entertainment.

This year Blackburn BID have collaborated with local university students to organise this repeat event focusing on community values and a wider entertainment offering. Traders will have the opportunity to take part in training workshops before the event.

As part of the wider festival, the markets will include making workshops with professionals such as nominated Free Range artist, Laura Coyne. In this collaborative workshop, the public will be taught how to paint self-portraits in Laura’s distinguished style as part of a local identity project.
