Festival of Making
In partnership with the Festival of Making and Blackburn BID, we are launching our first ever Teenage Market event in Blackburn town centre. There is the opportunity for 20 traders to take part over two festival days in May. Insurance will be covered for all traders taking part.As this is the launch of the first ever Festival of Making, we anticipate a great deal of interest from traders. Please be patient with us as we go through the application process, we will try to notify you of our decision as soon as we can. Please also bear in mind that we may prioritise trader applications from Blackburn residents, as we are keen to support local traders.
The Festival of Making is taking place over the weekend of 6th - 7th May 2017 and visitors will be able to see, taste and hear things they've never seen, tasted or heard before. It is a totally free family festival taking place in the manufacturing heartland of Blackburn, Lancashire over two, exciting days.
A festival like no other, The National Festival of Making will bring together artists and designers, manufacturers, small scale makers and the public together to explore their own making potential.
Innovative art installations, hands-on workshops, live performance and markets promoting handmade products, including fine foods and craft ales, gives visitors a chance to celebrate the unique diversity, innovation and skills in British making and manufacturing in unexpected and inspiring ways.
