Cumberland is a diverse and distinctive local authority area in the north west of England, stretching from the stunning West Cumbrian coastline to the historic city of Carlisle, close to the Scottish border.Covering a large part of Cumbria, Cumberland is home to dramatic landscapes, vibrant towns, thriving communities and world-class heritage. The area includes an area of the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, alongside miles of coastline overlooking the Irish Sea.
